Course offered in RCES: Major, Minor & Interdisciplinary Course in Physics.

Eligibility of student: A candidate opting Physics as Major subject in B.Sc. Program must have passed Physics as prerequisite subject at the qualifying examination.

Departmental Profile: The curriculum for the Programs is restructured to cater to the requirement of Choice Based Credit System (NEP-2020), following the University Grants Commission (UGC) guidelines. In the proposed structure, due consideration is given to Core and Elective Courses. Furthermore, these courses will facilitatea systematic and thorough learning towards better understanding of the subject. Well-ordered and planned curricula divided into four years (comprised of eight semesters) shall motivate the student for pursuing higher studies in Physics and inculcate enough skills for becoming a good Physicist. Career prospects: With a BSc honours in physics, along with jobs in the field of physics, one can also apply for a job in almost any engineering field most importantly in the core fields of engineering like mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, electronics engineering, one can also apply for other streams of engineering like extc, electronic instrumentation, nanotechnology, material science, etc.

You can also apply for jobs abroad for engineering Jobs. As he/she has completed BSc Hons degree, he/she is eligible for csir net, they can clear net and work as JRF. If you have any interest in coding, you can learn coding or improve your knowledge of coding and join any it firm, you can also join any it firm without learning any extra coding aswell.

One can try for jobs abroad in the field of Physics itself, if they are not interested in engineering jobs or apply for engineering Jobs abroad if they are not interested in Physics related jobs, or they may apply for both jobs too.

He/she can also try for government jobs in India. You can teach upto 12th as you won’t be eligible for UGC net without MSc physics so you won’t be able to teach BSc or Btech students without UGC net.

They can do b.ed and teach in schools and jr colleges and be a permanent teacher or lecturer there. You can also teach in classes till 12th level on basis of BSc hons, you won’t even need b.ed for teaching in classes. They can start their own class too.

They can start a startup or a buisness of electronic equipments used in Physics labs and start your own buisness. Other than job you can do MSc and PhD in physics in India.

You can join research institutions in India aswell as abroad. You have a variety of scope as you have completed your BSc hons in physics.We physicists fit anywhere and everywhere. All the best
